SEAT today unveiled the Toledo Prototipo at the Madrid Motor Show. This vehicle is a new sedan concept featuring added roominess, greater versatility and a large volume boot.
With its outstanding design and sporty nature, this prototype establishes the characteristics of the third generation Toledo scheduled for market launch at the end of the year.
The new Toledo retains the essence of both previous models - the three-body concept and rear hatch of the first Toledo (1991), the attractive design of the second (1998), and one of its more popular features - a large volume boot.
The characteristic dynamic line defines the design on the Toledo Prototipo. Running down both sides of the car, this line is even more prominent as a result of the two colours used to paint the bodywork.
Its design strength also lies in its overall dimensions. At 449 cm long, 177 cm wide and 158 cm high, it provides more space than ever on a car in its class. The large rear hatch gives practical access to over 500 litres of boot space.
Another characteristic element on the Toledo Prototipo is the panoramic glass roof that covers almost the entire passenger compartment, flooding the interior with natural light.
The prototype comes with 19 inch wheels and 235/35 tyres, new lighting technology with dual xenon bulbs and the latest multi-media technology.
The Toledo Prototipo is equipped with a direct injection 2-litre FSI engine. At 6,000 rpm it delivers 150 hp to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The SEAT design team has done painstaking work on the interior of the Toledo Prototipo, combining traditional materials handcrafted with the latest technology. Natural leather has been used on the upholstery, lower steering wheel, gearknob, instrument binnacle hood and door armrests.
