ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN

S-class running gear needs no introduction
The CLK320 gets the same 3-valves per cylinder V6 which does duty in the made-in-India S320 luxo saloon but with a state of tune that is decidedly far more spirited. This gem of a motor is mated to the equally brilliant five-speed automatic with Touch Shift control. And of course the engineers have worked to give the exhaust a slight throaty note on full chat which is truly worth exploiting to the hilt with pedal to the metal and of course with the top down. The sheer refinement of the engine-transmission combo clearly shows in every nuance of the power delivery and the way the rear wheels bite and hurtle the vehicle forward.
