I have a confession to make. I am in a veritable dilemma thanks to the seducing charms of
a couple of young 'uns who have done enough to box me into a corner when it comes to
selecting one over the other. The duo I am referring to is the Accord twins, one with the
grade logic auto 'box and the other sporting the 5-speed manual transmission. Both exude
their own irresistible charms which make one revel in different ways. But when making a
choice is what you do for a living, I was foxed. For once!
Last month I
spent a week philandering to kingdom come with the Accord automatic, an affair which you
could have positively gloated over - heck, I even told the whole world and the Martians
about it! So when the opportunity came my way to get to grips with its manually turned-on
sister, I grabbed it firmly with the left hand. And didn't feel like letting go, ever!
Sorry to be sounding so chauvinistic but the 5-speed manual-equipped Accord 2.3 VTi is a
dish which is even more enticing and turned-on than its obedient automatic-transmissioned
sibling. And being the sucker for power that I am, for once I was able to pull rank over
the rest and commandeer the car myself over the five day stretch for this road test
report.
At the cost of sounding repetitive, let me get straight across to the performance aspect
of this well stacked babe, which is near greased lightning. All executed while maintaining
a demure composure! Tough call this but she does just that.
