Kodai’s most exclusive hotel with lake-facing rooms. Good restaurant and bar.
Rates for double rooms: Rs 4200 for the high season (December 15-January 6), Rs 3200 for regular season (June 11-October, November 26-December 14 and January 7-April 14), Rs 3800 for the festive season (October 26-November 25). Credit cards accepted.

Hotel Garden Manor

Pleasant place with nice rooms and huge bathrooms. Each room has a little sit-out overlooking the lake, where you can have your morning tea. Jinu, the manager here, goes out of his way to see that you are comfortable.
Rates: Rs 1900 for the high season (April 1-June 15 and December 16-January 15). Rs 1000 for the low season (June 16-December 15 and January 16-March 31). Bargain a bit and you may wrangle a 15 percent discount. Credit cards accepted.

Hotel Tamil Nadu

Run by Tamil Nadu Tourism and popular with budget travellers. Staff is helpful but place is noisy with tourist buses arriving at odd hours. Also, there’s a Youth Hostel in its premises.
Rates for double-room cottage/suite: Rs 650 for April and June, Rs 700 for May and Rs 430 from June 16-March 31. Youth Hostel Double Room (Dorm) Rs 500 (Rs 100), Rs 550 (Rs 125) and Rs 300 (Rs 60) respectively.

Hotel Hilltop Towers

Flashy, centrally located place with friendly staff.
Rates: Rs 600 for the low season and Rs 1000 for high season.

Kodaikanal Club

Very formal club set up in 1887. Facilities plenty and feel very British. Sixteen large double-rooms and amenities like billiards tables, tennis courts, a bar, and a badminton court. Rooms are booked months in advance during the high season.
Rates are steep at approximately Rs 2500 a day.
