Qualities
of a good designer
1.The
greatest asset of an automobile designer is his creative
ability - the ability to search for new taste, to visualise
a new approach to an old problem, to be able to communicate
graphically, emotionally and intellectually. There should
be a keenness to experiment with different materials,
to develop new shapes and, most important, to be original.
2.The designer should be able to draw professionally and
possess technical knowledge of automobiles if the designer
goes in for the engineering aspect of designing. The individual
should be creatively inclined towards mechanical concepts
and should be open to new ideas and willing to break or
experiment with old sets of rules.
3.If you're basically a technical person, you should acquire
drawing skills, while an artist could do with basic mechanical
studies. As most companies have two separate divisions,
one must be able to co-relate projects and work as a team.
