Okay, it is common knowledge now that the Optra is actually the Daewoo Nubira adorned with the famous yellow bow-tie, but this doesn’t take away the fact that the Optra is one of the best lookers in its segment. Not surprising since it has come off the drawing boards of Pininfarina.
Offered with two engine options, the 1.8 LS comes at a price that is Rs 1.31 lakh more expensive than the 1.6 base model.
Now to entice more people to go in for the bigger-engined Optra, GM has introduced the Optra Max. This car sports the interiors of the 1.6 base model and is offered at Rs 8.03 lakh, which is Rs 42,000 more than the 1.6 base model and Rs 21,000 cheaper than the 1.6 LS model.

The Optra Max comes with the 16-valve D-TEC 1.8l engine which develops 115bhp at 5800rpm. Other features in the Max include electronically-adjustable mirrors, 14 storage spaces and a cooled glove compartment. The Max is available in lightning silver, intense black, blazing red, crystal mica, virgin white, arctic breeze and pacific blue.
