Gear’s September 2006 has given its readers a sneak peek on the
new Hyundai
Verna. Although a detailed road test is what it will take to really
know the Verna inside out, Top Gear is pretty impressed with what they
saw, albeit not in great detail. Read on the know what seem to be the
positives on this car.
PROS:
1. The
new Hyundai Verna has a very contemporary and updated look. Although
it does share some of its looks with the Accent, there is a certain
fresh feel to it.
2. The front elevation of the car has winged headlamps and embedded
indicator lamps. Everything about the front from the grille to the Hyundai
logo is a well-designed amalgamation.
3. The best part about the interiors is the simple look rendered to
the center console. The switchgear is ergonomically designed, and is
pleasing to the eyes too.
4. Most importantly, the Verna has oodles of space and comfort, sometimes
even more than other contemporary cars of the same segment known for
their abundant space.
5. The 1.6 l engine is very light and efficient thus enhancing performance
of the car. The Verna is also very powerful.
6. At first impression, the Verna certainly seems like the sort to make
the competitors sit up in the night with anxiety.
CONS:
1. In the
fiercely competitive market, the styling of the Verna isn’t very
extraordinary. The design in very conservative to the cars of the same
segment, thus making it seem very plain.
2. All-in-all, a car to keep a close watch on, in case it turns out
to be your next car.
