Preparing for a slot in the premium SUV segment, the XUV 500 AWD looks better than all the products in the Mahindra stable.

Bold and aggressive and reminiscent of a cheetah – the XUV 500 has an intimidating jaw-like honeycomb grill with unique paw styled vertical door handles and muscular wheel arches. The upper grille with the logo in the centre is unique while day time running headlights, head lamps and large front bumper with streaked air dam and recessed fog lamps make the car attractive.

All four wheels have disc breaks and other safety features include ABS, EBD, airbags for the front and rear plus ESP.

The XUV 500 AWD is available in 7 attractive shades to suit a variety of tastes –These include Satin White, Tuscan Red, Opulent Purple, Amazon Green, Moon dust Silver, Volcano Black and Dolphin Grey.

Under the Hood
Based on company's first ever monocoque platform, the car comes with its first transverse engine – the 2.2-liter M-Hawk engine with east west layout generating 140 bhp of peak power and a maximum torque of 330 NM. The engine is coupled with India's first six-speed manual gearbox. The base variant is front wheel driven and upper variants are all wheel driven.

Also the engine has Micro Hybrid technology in place making it more fuel efficient than other Mahindra SUVs in India.

On the Road
A breeze to drive, the Mahindra XUV 500 AWD performs equally well on and off the road. In fact handling the Mahindra XUV 500 is far easier that any of Mahindra’s SUVs. In addition to an effective engine and braking system, the XUV 500 AWD also has Anti-lock Braking system, an Electronic Stability, Hill Hold and Hill Descent control making it suitable even for hilly areas.
