 New Cars for 2011
Toyota Avanza
With so many new versions and new models launched every year – the Indian car market is one busy place! We bring you some interesting launches that are scheduled end 2011…

The Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo are stiff competitors and the competition seems to be getting only hotter!

Mahindra and Toyota both are entering the MUV hatchback market with back-to-back releases. While Mahindra is planning to launch its Xylo Mini in August 2011, Toyota will follow suit with the Avanza in October 2011.

The Mini Mahindra Xylo is expected to bear all the specifications of its parent version “Mahindra Xylo SUV” and is expected to sell at around Rs. 5 lakh. The car will carry the same robust and aggressive looks as the Mahindra Xylo but will not carry all its high-end features.

The Toyota Avanza will be priced slightly higher in the range of Rs. 6-9 lakhs. Toyota will be positioning it as an Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV). The Avanza is being sold in Thailand at present and is doing well.
Mahindra Reva NXR

If you agree that we need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuel and look at more cost-effective and earth-saving options, there are two new options in the Indian market for you: the Reva NXR and the Tata Indica Vista Electric.

To be launched in October 2011, the Mahindra Reva NXR redefines the future for cars. Designed to give an enhanced driving experience without affecting the environment, the Reva NXR is specially designed for Indian users. A stylish beauty, this electric hatchback promises to be easy on the eye, wallet and the environment as well.

Tata Indica Vista Electric
Unveiled at the Delhi Auto show last year, Tata’s first electric car, the Tata Indica Vista Electric is being developed and produced by Tata Motors’ UK subsidiary – Miljo Innovasjon. The car will be exported from Norway to India in semi-knocked condition and is expected to cost between Rs. 6-8 lakhs.

In top-of-the-line sales, the Audi A5 and Nissan GTR will run neck-to-neck in November 2011. The Audi A5 is available in three major variants in International markets - Audi A5 Cabriolet, Audi A5 Sportback and the Audi A5 Coupé.

There is no confirmation which one will be coming to India but all three are inherently exclusive. Catering to elite circles, all versions are specially designed and provide options for customizing your pick of paints or seat colours in a combination of complementary shades. All variants come loaded with an FSI® direct-injection technology petrol engine and TDI Diesel engine which assures great fuel efficiency.

Another car to be launched in the luxury segment is the Nissan GTR. Expected to fall between the ranges of Rs. 65 to 70 lakhs, the sports car has already been launched worldwide and has received enthusiastic reviews.
