Logan ownership is all about discovering hidden charms…a big boot, wide rear seat, comfy front seat and frugal diesel engine all add upto its charm. AutoCar (Dec. ’08) marvels at its fuel-efficiency, “at the Logan’s current efficiency of 15.6kms to the litre, it is truly astonishing what one can make out of the 1.5litre diesel engine. Calculations show that our Logan goes almost 800km on a tank of diesel and that its done 25,000km in 12 months shows just how frugal it is.”
Of course it has it’s not so nice points. A small rattle is audible from the driver’s doorpad, the quality of the interior plastics is questionable, and the side mirrors are crude. Also the general layout of the switches is baffling and a considerable source of distraction says AutoCar (Dec. ’08)
Engine wise, it stalls a bit at low revs especially when starting off on slopes. One has to pile on the revs, slip the clutch ad claw the way up. On the highway the car feels slightly short on power and cruising is not as relaxed and effortless as it is in a Dzire.
But on the concluding note, all of that is forgotten and forgiven the instant the aforementioned fuel bills are factored in. Bottom line, you don’t mind driving this car because it doesn’t really drain on your wallet signs off AutoCar (Dec. ’08)
