| HUMMER
H3 |
ARNIE
MADE THE original Jeep replacement an icon by driving one
in Hollywood. And anything Hollywood loves to drive, Bollywood
loves too.
So be prepared for long lines outside GM showrooms when it
finally launches the new Hummer H3. Infinitely better looking
than its awkward-looking H2 elder sibling, the H3 is however
clearly related to the original.
Its triplet of square windows, the vertical slots on the grille
and those massive wheels all shout Humvee.
Indian right-hand-drive H3s will come from South Africa where
H3 production is about to commence. The H3 is apparently a
formidable off-road tool, but comes with concessions to comfort
like an independent front suspension.
The rear, however, is still basic — leaf springs, a
live axle and drum brakes.
All in all, the H3 will be the ultimate off-roader with tons
of attitude and enough grunt to invade a country if you so
desire.

CITY VTEC |
THIS
ONE TOOK a long time coming, but it looks like Honda is finally
bringing its City VTEC to India.
The City has done incredibly well for Honda bringing in plenty
of first- time buyers into the Honda fold with its affordable
price and fuel efficiency.
But the big gripe among Honda loyalists was that the car did
not have the performance of the earlier version.
This new VTEC with a 110 horses should take care of power
issues without a doubt.
The new engine also brings with it a face-lift that gives
the car a more grown-up look.
With the competition coming from the likes of the new Ford
saloon, it sure looks like Honda is ready and waiting.

HONDA ACCORD |
HONDA
SEEMS ADEPT at fixing things that ain’t broke. And the
latest to get the fix will be the Honda Accord.
The rear gets a major rework, as the trapezoidal tail-lamps
make way for a stylish, triangular shape, proudly displaying
their LED diodes. Plus, it gets an additional brake light
at the boot-lip.
Changes in the front are subtler, save for the tasteful chrome-bar
smacking the front of the grille. The same 2.4 i-VTEC is expected
to produce about 166bhp, over the current one’s 141bhp.
The V6 that makes an effortless 221bhp will receive tweaks
that boost power up to 244bhp.
Just when you thought you could settle for the new Sonata
Embera, this should definitely put more than a few doubts
in your mind.
