| Indiacar's answer : Rajan, The Oil recommended for a Esteem is a 20W50 SF or SJ grade oil and above. The use of sdditives for the engine depends on the age of the engine in Kilometers. Also the type of additives differ as per the applications. |

| Indiacar's answer : Krishna, Auromatic transmissions are for drivers convenience. It is largely useful in areas where there is need of frequet gear changes. A/T eliminates the hassles of frequent gear changes in trafic onditions and there are no hassles of clutch burning and breakdowns. However there is a drop in mileage by 10-15%. Automatic transmission vehicles are available with most of the manufacturers in mostly all segments except the Maruti 800. |

One of my friends has a Hyundai verna and recently had a car accident and the car's front portion was fully damaged. But the insurance company paid only 50% of the cost since they pointed to a line which says only 50% of cost of damage to 'rubber, nylon, plastic, tyres, tubes, batteries, airbags' and 30% of fibre glass.
Could you provide me with the details of the material the car is made of? what does insurance cover? what does it cover 100% of ?? If there is an accident, only what is listed above could get damaged. what else is left?
Is this a global phenomenon or Indian or is he being taken for a ride. If the material depends on car and model, could you answer the question specifically for Hyundai verna and Wagon R?

| Indiacar's answer : Srinivasan, The insurance regulatory authorities specify the terms and conditions of the coverage of the items and their depreciation values. These policies change from country to country. apart fronm the above depreciation values, the metal has no depreciation for a period of 6 months from the date of sale, and then increases in proportions of 5 % percent for the next 6 months and so on, the exact percentage is mentioned on the rear of the insurance policy. To reduce weight of the car the metals are replaced with non metals. |

It just indicates that the vehicle has been driven extensively, and indicates under maintenance of the vehicle. However, you may analyse the maintenance history of the vehicle by demanding the repair history from the dealer who has been servicing the vehicle. The pric quoted may be negotiated further if the same is considered. Please identify if the vehicle has been used as a tourist vehicle. |

| Indiacar's answer : Harish, The best way you drive a car at turns depends on your judgement of speed of the vehicleThe clutch should be pressed the minimum time hence you should be changing to lower gears in time enough before the engine RPM reduces. It can be well described in practical training. |

| Keyur question : Hi, I recently gave my Ford Ikon for servicing to the Ford Authorized dealer. At the end of the service, he gave me a bill of 35,000 rupees, mentioning that he had to change some engine parts. Now, since i have received my car from Service, it has become very difficult to drive the car, especially with the A/C on (even on minimum). It is giving me severe pickup problem. When i start my car it takes off very slowly and takes lot of time to gain speed. I have stopped using my car and am planning to give my car for checkup. But i want to be familier with the cause and want to know your expert opinion? Please help me with the same. Thanks in advance |
| Indiacar's answer : Keyur, It is difficult to analyse the problem of the car, without knowing the exact repairs spares replacement done on the car, and the problems you experienced before the work was done. However, assuming that there is no major defect during the engine repairs you should check the overall tuning of the engine. This should solve the problem. |
