PRADEEP YADAV question : i am planning to buy a car but i am confused between swift , i10 or i20. my daily usage is around 30km. kindly suggest me
Indiacar's answer : Pradeep, the i10 is a smaller car in comparison to the swift or the i20. In case you do not require that additional space and travel regularly in the city then I would recommend the i10, alternatively if you venture the Highways regularly, then I would recommend the i20.

SANCHIT WADHWA question : dear sir,i am looking for a disel hatchback priced between 6 to 7 lacks.i am interested in liva but hate its looks, fabia and polo.my daily running is about 20 kms.
Indiacar's answer : Sanchit, For your kind of usage, considering the price difference between the petrol and diesel car I would recomend a petrol car. Of the two vehicles I would recommend the Fabia over the Polo for its dealer network, though the technology of the two cars is similar.

SATHYADEEP VISWANATHAN question : Hi Mr.Rupesh, I'm interested in the Verito sedan. Considering that I will keep it beyond 10 years, should I go for petrol or diesel version? For the current 35rs price difference b/w the two fuels what would be the min usage per month for the diesel car to balance out its extra cost? Also is verito reliable enough for long keeping?
Indiacar's answer : Sathyadeep, the Verito Diesel or the Petrol engines are reliable backed by the Mahindra after sales support. As regards to the cost comparison, you need to tabulate and consider the vehicle cost, recurring insurance, emi costs if any & running costs and compare the two varints to understand the ownership costs of the two variants.

TARUN question : How to repair the Suspension of my Car (Maruti Esteem 2006 Vxi) What is the cost of new suspension (Front & Rear)
Indiacar's answer : Tarun, There are various components attached to the suspension of the car. unless you list what is defective that needs replacement, you will not be able to estimate the repair costs. You may not need to replace all the components of the suspension.

CHANDRA MOHAN KATYAL question : I have a Maruti Swift Dezire 2008 Model car which has been fitted with a CNG Kit of Open Loop System. The car runs smoothly after tuning but after 50/100 Kms it’s RPM starts dropping to 400 resulting it to stop at slow speed whereas if we switch on to Petrol the RPM again rises to almost 900 and it runs smoothly. The Throttle and related Sensors have been checked. Please give your valuable advices
Indiacar's answer : Chandra, Understanding the problem, The open loop gas system works on engine vaccuum, it is generally observed that a worn out throttly body is the cause of this problem. Test runniong the car with another unit to confirm the problem.

RAKESH PATIL question : I own a ford fiesta petrol 1.4. I am facing a problem i.e. the rats has eaten some wire in the engine. Because of which when I was starting the car the raditor fan was getting started automatically. Also the A/C cooling was not working, though the sir was flowing from the A/C. I have given my car to the ford authorised workshop. They said that they have repaired the wiring. But there is a short circut in the GM module which need to be replaced & there are 3 GM modules costing of which is in the range of INR 8000-24000. I asked them what if I don't change the GM module, they said that I'll face a problem of short circut in futuer. Please advise me the further course of action.
Indiacar's answer : Rakesh, technically, as per manufacturers specifications, if you need to change the module then there is no two ways about it. There is also another option of repair of the control modules locally ( un-authorised), however, there is no assuarance on the longevity of the repair and depends on case to case basis. In my knowledge there is a person in Mumbai, who repairs the modules, you could check for a economic solution if you desire so.-09322236336.

RAJASEKHAR question : I own Hyundai accent CRDI(2nd owner) 2005 model, bought 6 months back. It is well maintained at regular ser4vices at ASC. Now the Km reading is 80K.Next service due for 84 K.The vehicle is in excellent condition, amaging with excellent pick, superb braking I had only problem about engine noise and sound. It sound like old mahindra maxicab vans. There is no any black smoke. Mechanic says sound is normal for this car.I drive some other accent crdi with same KM reading, there is no any noise. Noise is high in traffic signals and low in highways/at a speed of 60 KHPH.Kindly suggest. I need to replace my tyres after 1000 Km suggest me a brand. What is advantage of alloy wheels. will you suggest me change my steel wheels in to alloys. thanking you.
Indiacar's answer : Rajasekhar, As regards to the sound of the engine, it is difficult to suggest to you in this forum. However, to reduce noise further, in case it is not related to a failure, there is a additive. (visit-http://gtoilindia.com/). The best tyres available are from Michelin & Goodyear. As regards to the advantages of Alloy wheels - Weight One of the biggest differences between alloy and steel wheels is the weight. The weight of steel is heavier than alloy's aluminum, generally resulting in a lighter wheel. Less weight in turn has a performance benefit because the car, particularly the suspension, has less weight to lug around. Alloy wheels generally make a car more agile, better handling and more fuel efficient. This is why performance cars almost always have alloy wheels. It should be noted that not all alloys are lighter than steel wheels. If for instance you have a small steel wheel that is 14 inches in diameter, an alloy wheel that is 19 or 20 inches in diameter may weigh more. There is also a wide variation in the weight of allows. Strength Alloy car wheels are made from aluminum or aluminum mixed with another metal like magnesium. Alloy wheels are manufactured in a way that promotes strength, one of the reasons they are popular for race cars. Steel wheels are made of a stamped center that is generally welded to the outer rim. Alloy wheels are also less prone to bending over pot holes than steel wheels. Heat dissipation Alloy dissipates heat better than steel, so cars with alloy wheels may see a slight braking improvement, since there is less heat near the brakes. There is also less chance of an wheel cracking. One advantage of steel wheels is that they are not as porous as alloys, which can very occasionally experience leaks through the porous alloy. The porosity is a result of the casting process used to make alloys. Alloys typically have an open spoke design that lets more air in to cool the brakes, though some steel wheels also have an open design. Because steel wheels retain heat more than alloys, a tire mounted on a steel wheel is more likely to have blowout. It should be noted though that steel wheels are not inherently dangerous and are widely used. Variety Though there is a decent selection of steel wheels in different designs available, there are many more choices when it comes to alloy wheels. There are many companies that specialize in producing a wide range of light, high quality alloy wheels. There is also a larger choice of different sizes with alloy wheels. Appearance Generally speaking, alloy wheels are better looking than steel wheels. Alloys have a variety of finishes, including polished, chromed and painted. They also come in one-piece designs or multi-piece designs. Stamped steel wheels are generally much more plain looking and are either chromed or painted. However, steel wheels are popular among classic car enthusiasts for their vintage appearance. Cost Here is where steel wheels have a big advantage over alloys. Because they're made from less exotic materials and are subject to less complicated manufacturing processes, steel wheels are much cheaper than alloys. A new set of steel wheels is usually $200 to $300, whereas alloys can run into the many thousands of dollars, depending on the size and brand. Considering the above aspects, i would recommend alloy wheels fitment.

VINOD question : i am having maruti Alto LX 2004 model 93000 KM run now i want to fit CNG kit is it possible to instal cng in old car what performance i will get vinod
Indiacar's answer : Vinod, You can install a CNG kit in your Alto, however, if your engine power at this instant is low then you may face a considerable loss in power. Technically, you should not face any problem in the vehicle performance. In case you face any problems with respect to low engine power, There is an additive "GTO oil" which I would recommend increases your engine power by 10-15% and fuel economy by upto 20%. visit- http://gtoilindia.com

MIDHUN SAKAMURI question : how is "Ford Ikon 1.8 Dix" second hand diesel car? is it worth buying? value for money?
Indiacar's answer : Midhun, Considering the cost of the used car, the service maintenance cost of the Ford vehicles are considerably higher. The comparative cost of spares and parts availability is not as efficient compared to a Maruti or a Hyundai product. Technically a good vehicle, but, not worth considering purchase as a used car.
